One day until the end of the world…

Posted by Peculiar Baptist on November 3, 2008

Of course as I am writing this in the early evening I’m not going to hold to a literal 24 hour day unlees you go by the evening to evening scale.  And currently it seems that every other commercial on the idiot box is a political one.  Just think as of Wednesday that will all be gone, thankfully.

On the web I read a rather vitriolic post by Daniel J. Phillips on people who vote for third party tickets.  As I happen to fall under that category I guess I’m insane by his standards and the man that I voted for a fool who’ll never accomplish anything.  (His words not mine.) Well he is entitled to his opinion even if I do find it lacking in charity for those of us who differ from him.  I’d also point out that in American history the two main parties have changed over time as they have fallen out of power to be replaced by others who members became the majority party.

On other things around the web I am still chuckling over Kim Riddlebarger’s idea about boosting sales for his book The Man of Sin read about it here.

Yesterday my wife pointed out that in the local paper we had our first homosexual marriage announcement.  They had been married in California and according to our state law their marriage isn’t recognized as valid.  The attitude of the editors of the paper is that a wedding announcement is a wedding announcement.  Which just goes to show that what is done in California will have repercussions through every state even if the states’ laws don’t recognize the marriages.  By the way I use the term “marriage” because I can’t think of another word to describe what it is that they are doing.   If someone can think of a better term I’d appreciate a heads up.
